About the Nadareh Rug
This beautiful little rug pattern is designed for Petit point but can be stitched in Cross stitch or Needlepoint if desired. It would be a wonderful addition to your dollhouse or room box to finish it off with elegance. Inspiration for this little rug came from a photo of The oldest known rug to man, the Pazyryk rug, housed at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Each of my patterns are hand-designed using computer software only to help with moving elements around, NOT designed automatically by inputting a photo into a computer program. Designs can take several weeks to edit and tweak to my satisfaction.
On 40 count silk gauze, the rug would measure approximately: 8" x 9 1/4" (20 cm x 23.5 cm) and would be suitable for a 1/12 scale dollhouse project. It could also be adapted to a larger or smaller project if you wish. Simply divide the number of stitches in the pattern by the number of stitches per inch of your fabric to determine the size your project would turn out. Most often, when you choose to stitch the pattern in another form of stitching, such as Cross Stitch, Needlepoint or French Knot, your finished product will come out a different size, depending on the count of fabric you choose. At that point, it may not be considered in scale for a dollhouse project, especially if the fabric you choose is a lower count. However, my patterns do not need to be for a dollhouse if you choose just to stitch it for some other purpose. For example, the pattern could be stitched and framed to hang on your wall.
THE PATTERN IS A PRINTED PATTERN ONLY, THERE IS NO PHYSICAL KIT, FLOSS OR FABRIC ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PATTERN. This pattern is suitable for someone at the experienced or intermediate level of stitching. The chart is available in both Color or Black and white, depending on how you prefer to read it. Regardless of the style of chart you choose, you will receive a pattern that is easy to read, including a picture of the digital version of the rug, along with instructions as seen in the photo of the example pattern in each listing.
Materials needed to complete the pattern:
Please note: The first picture of the rug is a digital representation of the finished product. There is a watermark on the photo that does not appear in the pattern. The next photos show my actual test stitching of the elements in the pattern to test colors and pattern elements. They have been digitally arranged to show how each element works in sequence. All are deliberately blurry to help avoid unwanted copying of my pattern. Due to differences in monitors or phones, colors on your screen may appear slightly different than the actual colors used.
Shipping: Your pattern will be shipped in a 10" x 13" flat, plastic envelope to help protect it from the elements. Shipping will be by regular post or airmail thus delivery times will vary based on the country it is being shipped to. Sorry, no returns or exchanges.

Materials needed to complete the pattern:
- Silk gauze – at least 2-4” larger than the stated size of the pattern. For example, if the rug is 4” x 6”, your silk gauze should be a minimum of 6” x 8”, but ideally 8” x 10” in size for the count of gauze quoted in the pattern.
- DMC floss
- #28 Tapestry needle
- Frame – I use foam core for my frames. A tutorial for this named Mounting your Gauze and Beginning to Stitch may be found under Tutorials
