Another Lucille Pillow

In an earlier post, I spoke of my Lucille pillow, which was the first in a series of little pillows I have designed to test motifs in my Lucille Rug before I offer the pattern for sale.

After a little hiatus, where I stitched a Christmas Stocking, I have now stitched my Lucille 1 Pillow and the pattern is being offered for sale.

This pillow went through a couple of color transformations before I was happy with the result. One of the motifs was originally designed in a dark blue, but I accidentally stitched it in a dark green. I found I liked it better and it looked better in the rug pattern, so the green won the day.

I have found that when working in the evenings stitching, it takes me approximately 5 days to finish a pillow. My next post will most likely be in 5-6 days as I have decided to finish working the Lucille pillows before I start another testing project. I have quite a few patterns left to test and I am continuing to work through them before I allow myself to get started on my next large rug.

A New Christmas Stocking

During my limited down-time, I have stitched a little stocking to test my newest designs. I designed this one for both 40 count and 48 count silk gauze so that you may choose which count you would like to use. There is room for a small name at the top in the banner area, which I did not stitch in my example.

I had a bit of trouble when stitching this stocking because it was turning out smaller than I expected and I kept thinking I had designed the pattern incorrectly. The lightbulb suddenly went on just as I finished stitching it. I had mounted 48 count silk gauze and accidentally printed out the 40 count pattern! Therefore, the stocking turned out smaller than I expected and I cannot sell it. All is not lost though because it showed me the colors have all worked out the way I wanted, which is ultimately my reason for stitching it and my patterns were correct.

The 2 patterns have now been uploaded to our shop and are available for sale. The 40 count version may be found here: Stocking 14 and the 48 count version may be found here: Stocking 15
Both turn out approximately the same size when stitched on the correct count of gauze. Don't make the same mistake I did, LOL! This is just another lesson I have learned to not trust my memory when starting to stitch a pattern, double check that you have the correct gauze mounted, unless of course, you want to make it bigger or smaller deliberately. :)

Leona Flowers pillow

Last week, I started stitching another little pillow pattern. This morning I finished the last stitches and sewed the backing fabric onto it. This little pillow reminds me of Spring and Summer and as Winter is approaching, I needed this little pick me up.

I have named this little pillow my Leona Flowers Pillow and it is now available in our shop.

I took some elements from my Leona rug, changed some colors and blended them into this pillow pattern.

Currently, I am also finishing a little Christmas Stocking I have designed and almost have ready to unveil. Stay tuned for my next post...

Updated Photo Albums Completed

After more than a week gathering and laminating photos, I now have our new photo albums assembled ready for our next miniature show in May.

Several customers will be able to browse at once now through our albums since we now have 7 to choose from.

It was a lot of fun assembling these and reprinting all of the photos to make them consistent with our color theme. Many of the old photos printed by a photo shop had cropped either the sides or ends of the patterns and I had no choice but to use them at the time. I am very lucky to have a good printer and all of the photos came out very clear with excellent color.

I am looking forward to seeing how these will be received next May!

Two Little Pillows Finished

In an earlier post, I showed you a little Christmas pillow that I began stitching after the MET show.

I have now finished the little Teddy Bear pillow and was on a roll, so I stitched this little Bunny pillow as well!

The Bunny pillow pattern will be available shortly, but the Teddy Bear pattern is available when you click on the orange words above.
