One last Christmas Stocking

I realize it is no longer Christmas, but I had one last stocking to stitch and test before releasing the pattern. I decided since it is still winter, I was still going to stitch it before working on my large rug project. I started this a week ago when I finished my test stitching for the Fargol rug.

This is the start of my Stocking 12 pattern and already I could envision the end result very nicely. This little stocking was inspired by a Christmas card I received that had a little cat looking out a window at a wintery scene. It looked so adorable that I had to try and design it!

A week later, I finished the stocking, along with some color changes to my original pattern. The little house did not stand out enough against the background, so I changed almost all of the colors on it. Due to this, it delayed my finish. It isn't easy removing the old color when stitching has been done all around it. I managed eventually and put in the new colors. Success! The new colors worked so much better. I also added another fence post and some horizontal lines in long stitch to represent a fence since the gate looked odd sitting there all by itself.
The Poinsettia vase was changed from a blue one to a yellow one because the blue disappeared beside the green window sill.

I am now very pleased with the design and color choices. This little pattern isn't for the faint of heart because there are a lot of color changes in a small space. The result is terrific though and I would say this is for an intermediate or experienced stitcher if doing it on 48 count silk gauze.
