This past week, I tried my hand at making some mini slippers. This is the first time I have ever made any and they are of my own design. They are stitched on 40 count silk gauze and are approximately 1" long. They are a little long for 1/12 scale but were a good size to get the basics down about how to make them. I think I will stitch the next pair on 48 count gauze and see how that works. In order to put them together, I used a tutorial I found on Natalia Frank's Blog found Here . I had some difficulty making the soles and hope to get better over time. I suspect that I made the toe section a bit too narrow. If I had made them a bit wider, the overall length would have been a bit shorter. However, I had a lot of fun designing and making them and hope I will get better with the next attempt. 🙂

Last week I spent some time designing this beautiful little silhouette. I liked her so much, I couldn't wait to stitch her! I began the stitching yesterday and it took about 2 hours to complete her. I then rooted around in my stash of frames to choose something suitable. I found this wonderful little wooden frame and made sure the background stitches would fit within the circle of the frame. I was able to get her framed quite quickly and this is the result. Lots of fun!
