Katrianna Pillow Started

This week I began my Katrianna pillow. As the original design is for 40 count fabric, I had to add some rows around the border to make it measure 1 inch on 48 count fabric. Luckily, this was an easy thing to do and I have now finished stitching the border and started on the middle.

Now that I am almost half finished this little pillow I am going to begin designing something to stitch along the end of the rug. There isn't a lot of space there so I can't do another pillow. I am thinking I will design a little clutch purse or maybe some slippers. I am excited to see what I come up with!

The little snowman is finished

I finished the little snowman pillow faster than expected and now have the pattern posted ready for purchase. This little guy/gal was fun to stitch and has been done on 48 count fabric to make the pillow 1" x 1" (2.5 cm x 2.5 cm). However, it is perfectly within scale to stitch it on 40 count fabric as well.
If interested in the pattern, it may be found here: Christmas Cushion 1 - Snowman. I started another little cushion last night using up a bit more of the space around the Christmas Rug so I am one step closer to being able to

remove everything from the frame and begin blocking. At the moment I am itching to begin my next petit point rug but am restraining myself until I can begin blocking this set of projects. That way I won't be delaying finishing this one in favor of beginning another. Until next time, happy stitching!

After the show, I haven't had a lot of time to stitch but do have a bit more done on the little cushion now. Here is my updated photo for this week. Next week I am hoping to have it finished and will post my completed version then.
For the moment I am having a bit of a rest after the fun and work of the show.

Just returned from the M.E.T. Show in Toronto

I have just returned from a successful day as a first time vendor at the M.E.T. Show in Toronto today. Many thanks to the members of the M.E.T. club for making my daughter and I feel welcome. We very much enjoyed meeting so many like-minded people today who enjoy the same things we do. The photo on the right and on the left below are of our table setup before the show started.
I was very pleased to sell my Denise Rug that I had stitched over a 5 month period today to a member of the M.E.T. club who had her

dollhouse on display at the show. She placed my rug in her house and kindly allowed me to take a photo of it in it's new home. The colors matched her house so well! The picture on the right below shows my rug in her wonderful dollhouse.
I was also happy to meet Roxanne, one of the contestants on the first season of the Best in Miniature Show and discover that we will both be going to Guild School in Castine, Maine next June. We both are looking forward to that adventure very much and it was nice to meet someone who I will recognize next year amongst the people attending.

Began a new project!

As you may have noticed, it is never very long before I begin a new mini stitching project. Last night I had an hour to relax after working on room and fire screens for the upcoming M.E.T. show in Toronto, so I started a new little pillow.

This pillow is a new one I have designed for a Christmas display. I am not going to reveal what I have put onto this pillow pattern yet but you will see as it unfolds. For now, all you can see is this little teaser! 😉

I am catching spare moments during the evenings to work on some Christmas pillow designs so more will be coming soon. I have

space for one more pillow around the outside of my Christmas rug then will switch to designing a small purse or two before removing the gauze from the frame and blocking everything. At that time I will find out if I have enough gauze to finish the rug and the pillows. If I do not have enough to stitch the pillows and only the edge on the rug, I will sacrifice the pillows or possibly make a little frame for them and mount them as wall hangings. When it is time to finish the rug, I will take photos of each stage and post them on this blog to show you how I did everything. Fingers crossed that my plans work!

We will be at the M.E.T. Show on October 15th!

I thought today I would do a little post regarding the M.E.T. Show that my daughter and I will be selling at. Below is the official flyer for the show and I am very excited that I may be able to meet some of the contestants of the Best in Miniature show! Like many of you who were able to watch it, I thoroughly enjoyed the show and eagerly awaited each episode.
If you haven't seen it, the show is a Canadian Miniature competition show and may be found on CBC Gem.
Come on out and say "hello" to us and possibly meet Michael Lambie or one of the 3 contestants attending.
