The big push is now on and we have entered the final 2 weeks before the Miniature Enthusiasts of Toronto show. I have been hard at work making room screen kits such as the one below along with little crocheted pillows, miniature book kits and petit point pillows. The video I uploaded on the bottom right shows but a small portion of the making process of my screen kits. After the precise cutting is done, I begin the sanding and assembling of each kit. As the nails are too long I must cut each one in half before using them to attach to the hinges. I use three different grits of sandpaper when sanding in order to give the screen a very smooth finish that will be ready for you to paint, stain or varnish as you choose. Generally, it takes me 2-3 days to make one screen kit.
My daughter Heather will be joining me at the show and we are getting quite excited. I hope to meet lots of people there and look forwards to making a few more things before the show happens on October 15th.
